Senior care

Senior Care is Franklin Hospital’s outpatient behavioral health program for senior citizens specifically tailored to meet the needs of older men and women as they struggle to deal with depression, grief, worry, anxiety and isolation.

• 6 – 12 Week Program (2 – 4 Days per Week)
• Group, Individual & Family therapy
• Full Coordination with Primary Care Physician
• Transportation and Noon Meal Provided on Treatment Days

The 6-12 week program utilizes individual, group and family counseling sessions offering various therapies including conversation, memory exercises, art, music, exercise and interaction with pets.  Additionally, laughter and humor are encouraged as both improve the sense of well-being. 

Patients can be referred to the Senior Care program by their primary care physician, a community agency, a family member or they can request the services themselves.  Individuals living in long term care and assisted living facilities also benefit from the program.  Medicare Part B will pay 80% of the cost of the program, which includes transportation and lunch on treatment days; private insurance is often used to pay the remaining 20%.  The Senior Care program operates for seniors living within a forty-mile radius of Franklin Hospital in Benton, Illinois.  For more information call 618/435-4731 or email paula.riva@franklinhospital.net.
