Mammography

Franklin Hospital now offers both 2D and 3D Mammography. This system is amazingly comfortable and has images of the best quality.

It is time to get more thoughtful about 3D mammography:

ASPIRE Cristalle with Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is built with insight into image quality, operational excellence, and a better patient experience. Here's why:

INSIGHT #1 Mammograms don't work if women won't get them.

The intelligent design of ASPIRE Cristalle's patented Comfort Paddle provides noticeably less pain and anxiety for the patient. Its unique flexible, slotted 4-way tilting paddle design gives more even, gentle compression combined with the Intelligent Automatic Exposure Control (iAEC) image processing, making it possible to provide more optimized images at a low dose for every breast type, including implants.

INSIGHT #2 Departments are only as efficient as the technology they use.

Our advanced technology simplifies and promotes workflow so technologists can spend more time focused on patient interactions - and get you on your way faster so you can enjoy more of your day!

Smart shortcuts and fewer clicks--set exposure and confirm acquired images on a single screen
Simultaneously adjust density and contrast for both left and right views
Minimize patient discomfort with automated compression and release
Immediately output individual images to PACS, viewer, or printer during exam
Improve system availability and extend system life with programmable automatic startup, sleep, and shutdown

INSIGHT #3 Hexagons are engineered to perform better than squares. We have the only unit within a 150 mile radius that has this technology!

The unique Hexagonal Close Pattern (HCP) detector pixel design on ASPIRE Cristalle outperforms traditional pixel arrays to help enable superior diagnostic accuracy for radiologists.

When compared to square pixels, HCP delivers:

20% increase in detector sensitivity (clearer pictures)
Improved information capture
Lower patient radiation dose - 20% less!

Bone Density

Bone density scanning, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) or bone densitometry, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology used to measure bone loss. DXA is today's established standard for measuring bone mineral density (BMD).

Helping people keep their bones healthy so that they can move freely calls for the highest quality images that enable clear identification of fractures that might otherwise go unnoticed.

The Hologic Discovery DXA system enables us to identify patients at risk for osteoporosis and other debilitating conditions.

Results provide a T score, Z score, and a FRAX* 10-year Fracture Risk Assessment.

The FRAX risk assessment tool calculates a patient's 10-year probability of hip and other osteoporotic fractures. FRAX was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to help healthcare providers identify and proactively treat patients with a high risk of debilitating bone fractures due to low bone mass and other significant risk factors.

Whole Body Mass Scanner

Advanced Body Composition Assessment and InnerCore Visceral Fat Assessment

The Advanced Body Composition assessment feature produces color images displaying the distribution of fat, lean mass, bone, and fat mass index. The information is translated into an easy-to-interpret report for improved patient management and counseling.

Our DXA systems incorporate the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) whole-body composition reference data. The Endocrine Society recommends annual bone mineral density and body composition exams for bariatric surgery patients.

A physician's order is not required for this scan.

Computed Tomography (CT)

The new Aquilion Prime SP 40 is the CT system of choice for all your imaging needs, from fast patient throughput to new diagnostic capabilities. We offer all standard contrast and non-contrast exams and a variety of Angiography exams.

Built with premium technology, the Aquilion Prime SP 40 empowers our facility to handle all patients, even the most challenging cases.

We make every scan as safe as possible with advanced AI-assisted technologies that keep the dose low and the image quality high.

Adaptive and Integrated Dose Management

Our scanner uses an array of adaptive and integrated dose reduction strategies to achieve the highest quality images with reduced radiation dose levels.

These strategies are implemented at every stage in the scanning process, from patient registration through data acquisition, raw data, and image reconstruction.

For your safety - The Prime 40 includes the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) XR-25 Dose Check requiring dose notification     and alert features

Raw Data and Reconstruction - 3 Radiation Dose reduction techniques

Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction (AIDR) targets image noise and is used to lower patient dose while maintaining spatial resolution and image     texture.

Quantum Denoising Software (QDS) reduces image noise to optimize image quality while lowering patient dose.

Boost 3D™ improves image quality and lowers dose by selectively reducing noise and streak artifacts from those areas where it is needed.
